LT1 Heads/Cam Packages

Working with some of the quickest and fastest LT racers in the country, we have established Ai as the undisputed leader in LT based performance. Over the years our over engineered component selections and camshaft designs have been imitated. However, without our leading edge port designs, our attention to detail, and the repeatability from our world class CNC machinery the competition's offerings still fall short. Our 200cc CNC'd GM LT1 heads have proven time after time that they are the first choice of winning LT racers around the world. Between the dominant 200cc CNC'd package and the more budget friendly 190cc CNC'd Street/Strip package we offer something for everyone serious about performance.

100% CNC'd 200cc Competition LT1 Cylinder Head Package:
This is it, the final word in GM LT1 casting based performance. This is the exact head that powers Rick Abare's 530rwhp 3440-3470lb Trans-Am into the 9's at over 138mph on pump fuel. Moreover this is the only GM LT1 head that has been proven capable of consistently producing in excess of 500rwhp SAE on pump fuel. For the ultimate street or race oriented LT1 powerplant, nothing else is even close. Our finest LT1 cylinder head includes custom components made to our exacting specifications from our specified materials. Additionally we automatically upgrade the 26918 spring to it's big brother the Pacalloy 1220 from the inventors of the "beehive" 918's. This, the ultimate hydraulic roller spring, will handle the latest roller lobes without spring fatigue or failure for many thousands of miles. In addition to what's listed below, we also offer several more race-oriented component configurations utilizing the latest in solid roller technology. Please give us a call for more information.

    LT1 Intake Manifold Porting

If you're going all out with your LT1 setup, the Intake Manifold deserves some attention. Much like our cylinder head packages, this isn't something where a "one size fits all" product is optimal. Because of this, we have several different levels of intake porting - from mild to wild. If you have a stock shortblock or a mild 383, all you really need is basic inlet porting. However, if your goals are above 450rwhp naturally aspirated we would recommend moving up to our Street/Strip manifold with ported runners. Just like our heads, all LT1 intakes are fully washed, bead blasted, and deburred so that they return looking better than new!

NOTE: To perfectly blend the TB opening to aftermarket TB bores we require either your TB, a gasket/template, or you may scribe around the insides of the bores yourself. Otherwise we enlarge to a standard 59.5-60mm dia gasket that fits most 58mm TB's. Prior to shipping your manifold to us, please remove the hardware attached to it. This includes the oil shield, fueling, and TB hardware. Barb fittings for vacuum lines may be left in.

    Pricing:

Cleaning & Inlet Porting - $175 - This offering is applicable to most engines with power goals below approximately 500hp at the flywheel. After cleaning, the physical modifications will be focused in the Throttle Body/Inlet areas of the manifold to enable the use of 58mm or mono-blade aftermarket throttlebodies.
Street/Strip Ported Intake - $375 - This is the same manifold Rick Abare has run 9.8's @ 138mph in a 3470lb car making 520rwhp SAE through an automatic and a 9" Ford rear end. It will easily support 550 flywheel HP and over 600FwHP in more aggressive applications. With massaged runners, enlarged Throttle Body bores and internal inlet contouring this is our best LT1 intake value.
Street/Strip Ported Intake w/ Corrected Geometry - $425 - This is the exact manifold listed above with more machinework. The ONLY way to make the ports of your intake manifold align with the ports of your head is via machinework, NOT "gasket matching." To save our stock short-block customers money our 190cc & 200cc CNC'd LT1's include machining of the head that corrects the typical mismatch produced by milling the head deck and going to a thinner gasket. However, for extreme applications or any application where the deck height of the block is altered, the flanges and end rails of the intake manifold must be machined to ensure proper fitment and port alignment. We will mock your exact heads up on one of our test blocks to duplicate your exact deck height, head gasket, and intake gasket combination and machine the intake manifold to correct the geometry of the flanges. You may be able to bolt your manifold on by elongating bolt holes, but that will not correct the port alignment or make it seal!
Ai LTx Vic Jr or LTx Pro-Ram Single Plane - Starting at $600 - If you're a bracket racer yearning for a carburetor or are looking for a no holds barred LTx manifold package, this is the one. Whether it's a good old Vic Jr. or a tricked out Pro-Ram with all the accessories we've done it and have the results to back up our claims. As this is a custom "one-off" oriented item, please inquire for a specific price quote.

    Other Options...

Bronze Guide Liners - With some older used castings the valve guides will have been worn to the point that the valve stem to guide clearance exceeds optimal, and sometimes safe limits. This can not only cause an inordinate amount of oil consumption, but premature wear of related components, and poor valvetrain dynamics. To alleviate this, we can install genuine K-Line Full Bronze liners, and hone them to within .0001" of our desired clearances. These liners essentially offer all of the benefits of a full bronze guide, while keeping the parts and machinework cost at a minimum. With properly honed guides you'll be set for years of reliable, consistent performance.

    Upgrade Cost - $125

Valve Spring & Retainer Upgrades - For those looking to get the most performance out of our LT1 offerings we have several available valve spring upgrades to handle any of the latest and greatest Hydraulic and Solid Roller lobes out there. For competition engines that absolutely must perform consistently without fail there is no better option than a true Race Quality PSI Endurance Series spring with Xceldyne's Titanium locks and retainers. Not only is the design, attention to detail, and tolerancing superior to the average part, they also utilize a higher grade of Titanium. Where most Ti components are Ti6AL4V, race quality Ti components are produced from Ti-17 (Ti-5Al-2Sn-2Zr-4Mo-4Cr). These top-shelf options are also a great upgrade for the discerning enthusiast demanding the utmost in performance & long-term reliability. Here are a few of our most popular upgrades:

    CompCams "120" Beehive Springs - Upgrade Cost - $50
    CompCams "943" Pacalloy Spring w/ Xceldyne Ti-17 Locks & Retainers - Upgrade Cost - $695
    PSI 1200 Series Endurance Spring w/ Xceldyne Ti-17 Locks & Retainers - Upgrade Cost - $795

Below are a few pictures to illustrate the extreme attention to detail inherent in true High-End Race Quality Components from Xceldyne vs. the average parts most offer. While both are functional, the Xceldyne part's vastly superior Ti-17 material, design & precision machinework will deliver superior performance, reliability, and longevity. All components pictured are new.
